It doesn't matter what it was worth in 2004. That was a different market. All that matters is how it compares spec/condition/price wise with current bikes. I'd buy it if it was well maintained.

If you can only get fixed threads your freewheel will work fine with them. I've done it and so have several others here. I haven't found anyone who ruined a hub doing it but who knows.

I love the Dawes, but my knees don't. There's nothing but rolling hills here. I either have to mash with a high gear or spin out in a low gear. I would keep it if I had room for 2 bikes.
