I have DA with a SRAM Red chain and Red cassette and do not have a noise problem. I use purple extreme lube so I do not know if that helps.

In fact it is cheaper and heavier than the Race Carbon fork. Trek reduced their costs a great deal on the fork to make the bike cheaper. I could easily drop a pound with a good fork.
