Show us your Raleigh Super Course!
These great old Raleigh Super Courses seem to have a strong following here in C&V – and deservedly so, IMHO, since they’re so well-mannered, and their classic style just seems to define the genre. They are also among the most adaptable of bikes for sport/utility or touring, as has been illustrated here, on more than one occasion.
The Super Courses were high enough the Raleigh hierarchy as to be very well regarded, yet common enough so that many of us can aspire to actually owning one.
So, I though it was about time for a "show us your SC" thread. Here is your opportunity to post yours!

I need to take better pics, but here is my '74 SC MKII - my favorite ride in my humble collection. I believe it to be all orginial (except a previous owner added turkey wings) other than the saddle...( I have a B17 on the way from the auction site...I thought a B-17 Narrow would be, um...too narrow for me...

Your collection can't be TOO humble if it includes that MKII. (Gotta lose the Turkey wings though!)

This one is a '71 or '72. I call it a '71 for argument's sake.
I'm using the upright bars now, as it's a commuter/errand bike for me now.
The ride quality is far beyond my expectations. I'm using Panaracer Pasela tires, which are fantastic.

I posted this in a separate thread but in case some here missed it I will throw it in. I traded it in when new but at least owned one - it was a 1978 model. Here it is with just a few miles on it. Managed to install some Campagnolo Record components and the Sugino crank set before realizing that I was aspiring towards something more expensive. I should have kept it but limited finances back then forced me to trade it in on something Italian.

Bad pic but rode this around town fixed for a couple of years. It was $25 at a garage sale but missing most of the original components. Very stable bike...a treat to ride with hands off the bars. A '76 I believe.

Here's my 73' SC that I bought new when I was 14.
Little did I know that I would ride it for a couple of years, then pretty much let it sit for another 34 years before riding it again. LOL I got the bug last year about this time and drug the ole' SC out of storage, tore it down, re-greased all the bearings, put some new tires on, and oiled the stock Brooks B-17 narrow seat, and off I went. It still has original Weinmann brakes, Simplex derailleurs, cranks, etc, even the original vinyl handlebar tape.
Put almost 2000 miles on it since last spring.
