I just picked up a Bianchi last night and I'm trying to figure out that model and year it is. It has a Piaggio sticker on the top of the seat tube and a 022 on the bottom. I couldn't see any decals on the top tube but I could read the serial number = AS312714

The frame is dark green with the lower part of the fork and seat stays/chain stays chromed. There are also double eyelets on the fork and dropouts.
It had sugino VP cranks
Suntour downtube shifters
Suntour front derailleur
Canti brakes

I'll get a photo of the frame tonight or tomorrow.

sounds like an older Randonnuerer or I think is '83ish there was a San Remo model. what size wheels?

Wheel size is 700c

So here is the bike. It has a set of GT cranks but the pedals don't look like they are coming off so I put on at set of GP, I also have a set of VP but I'm not sure which ones are better.

Serial number is IS867359. Bianchi Brava with suntour gpx (quattro on the DT shifters) components, non-crowned fork, double butted cromolly sticker.

Year?

I did a pretty extensive interweb search but came up with nothing conclusive.

Hi Jrider. same to you great looking bike. I think that is either a '88 or 89 Brava frame but it should have 105 on it. someone must have done a component swap. those Quattro shifters are normally only seen on the '89 Campione de Italias, I am not sure anyone else used it on US bikes.

Haven't got any pics yet, but my new acquisition has the following serial number:

stamped D*534 on one side of the bottombracket shell, and 55 on the other side (that would be the ctt size).

Guessing that D could be the month code because none of the numbers indicate the year (87/88ish)

these are the spec..the group set is campagnolo also the shifter, brake set are modolo front and rear, the serial number are 166434, there is a decals on the seat tube near crank set "made in Italy", and on the down tube calibrati 20, tire model 27, colour red metalic.thanks

we tried to help you on your other two treads. we need better pics of the bike. since Bianchi made lotsof bikes in Italy and Campagnolo makes several component groups as well as Modolo make several models of brakes your information is too vague to be of use. it is almost like saying can anyone tell me what year and model my chevy is? it has a V8 leather seats and goodyear tyres

from what I could tell from the pics you posted it is like a '84ish Alloro level bike, but without more spefic details that is the best we can do.

Were you able to find anything out?

Hi Neil Idi not get a cance to look and am out of town for work again. I am very certain that this is a '83 San Remo there is an almost identical frame posted as a Franken bike with north American style bars on it.

In my search, I was able to find an ebay auction that matches my Bianchi to a T!

I am looking for; what exact year it was manufactured, what is its money value, and its rarity!

**Note: the pictures are not of MY Bianchi, but of the auction I found. Mine is not in nearly as immaculate condition albiet in very good condition. It is identical to the auction in every way possible (suntour components, color scheme, same griptape, mousetraps, seat) except slight scuffing, minimal rust, not as shiny, etc (that auction went for $280 - i'm guessing mine is worth $200).

The serial number is from 1989 but Radius was introduced for the 1990 model year, so your Eros should be a 1990 model. The Eros was 2nd from the bottom of the lightweight road bike lineup in 1990 and had an MSL Of $565 US. It's probably fairly rare as road bicycle sales had really plummeted in favour of ATBs and most cyclists favoured Shimano equipped models over SunTour. However rare mechanical and cosmetic condition, how you plan to sell it and the local market conditions. The Ebay auction was from Italy and I would dare try to correlate that market with thee US. However, I'd guarantee that you'd make a big profit.

another interesting thing about this bike, it was the only Eros with a double. the following year it had a triple crank and started the modern sport tour or "racing triple" thing. still yours is a great Bianchi in its own right

Hi Neil OK I finally got back home. this is a '84 San Remo, and originaly came with 105 "wide range" derailleurs (long cage). looks like someone tried to update te shifting but used a short cage 600. this apparently came from the factory with the rear rack.

Thannk-you for the greeting. Unfortunately, it's probably going to be a relatively short stay. as for the "racing triple" instigator, there were several predecessors to the 1991 Eros. Offhand, I know Miyata had their 718A in 1989 and there were probably others earlier than that.

Picked this up on Sunday for $80.00. It seems newer - I'm thinking mid to early 90's based on the bar wrap? I don't know very much about this bike, and googling didn't turn up much. Thanks in advance for any info!

great looking Bianchi. the Europa was ashortlived model in '92/93. it never seem to sell very well I don't recal if most buyers at that price point were getting upperend hybrids of ATBs. itsold fo around $500 or so. I am pretty sure yours is a '92 model. one thing I always liked about Bianchis from this era was that 90' stem. it made the rider feel just a bit more upfright but was not too unslightly for you pureist
