Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

chaffing
- adjective

Definition of CHAFFING
marked by or expressive of mild or good-natured teasing <a chaffing tone to Dad's discussion of my sister's new boyfriend>

https://www.merriam-webster.com/thesaurus/chaffing

Now, CHAFING, that's another story. If a little "good-natured teasing" is "rubbing you raw", you should quit the forum !!!

You are not supposed to sit on your computer while posting. Use a nice comfy chair and strip down to your undies. Now, how do we separate the wheat from the chaff? I also will often release some chaff to confuse those that may be chasing me.

While we're at it, would people quit with the loosing weight, and breaking instead of peddling downhill?

Nevermind. I'm going back to lurking.

You can take you're peddling and break the interweb with the tears from the chaffing on teh forums.

Also, is this bike going to make me happy, productive and the next winner of a Tour de anything?

Other misspellings I can totally understand. But "chaffing" just drives me crazy. It's so obviously phonetically WRONG!! My mind will not allow me to read it with a long "a" sound, as I suppose the writer intended.

Also in the same category is "frig" as an abbreviation for "refrigerator" (you mean "fridge"?)

"Tub" for "tubular" also grinds my gears, but I guess it's to differentiate it from "tube".
