New Bike - Grandis Light Concept
Until recently owned by Citoyen du Monde and posted here, but now mine, with a bit of personalization. Columbus Genius tubing, Campagnolo Record/Centaur build, Grandis panto 3TTT stem, 3TTT Paris Roubaix bars, Fizik Arione saddle, Look pedals, red OMAS headset, etc. Ready to roll.

That's the ticket!
I recall seeing pics of this one, and thinking it was fabulous.
The Record/Centaur combo build is one of my favorites.
Have you ridden a Columbus Spirit framed road bike? Enough to compare to Genius?

I have not. The only semi-sorta-kinda modern steel I've ridden was my Deda Zero Moser, and the handling of that bike was so quick (for me) that it was hard to notice much else about the bike.

Wow...you vintage bike experts must all live on the same street. Must be something in the water? If I went back to visit the garages back there, it would be like a little kid in a candy store. I can only imagine what hangs from the rafters of your garages.

Joe - you're the one who keeps coming up with the ridiculous finds - like that Richie Moon! The rest of us here on the right coast are just trying to keep pace!

I had originally found two of these frames hanging at Grandis' shop in Italy. One was destined for sale from day one and is now in the hands of an appreciative neighbor. I had then counted on making one into a climbing bike for myself, fitting one of the rare square taper Record triples (NOT the "Racing" triple which came out subsequently). Unfortunately the braze-on mount for the front derailleur did not allow me to fit a front derailleur that was suitable for a triple (the braze-on I have learned needs to be set up higher to allow the longer-bodied triple compatible derailleur to work), so the I then hemmed and hawed for a couple years before finally accepting to sell it.

wow beautiful bike. How does it ride? I'd like to know more about Grandis , time to do some research.
Hold on, you two ride the same size frame? That seems dangerous.
I've heard things about citoyen's collection several times now over the past few years so I can only imagine what else is hanging in his garage.

Just curious, as I am having a bicycle built with Spirit.
I've ridden a few with Genius, but none with Spirit.
A member on another "forum" favorably compared the two.
They are twenty pounds lighter than I am though.
I'll discuss this further with the builder.
Again, you have a very nice bicycle there, that's certain.

I've had the good fortune of having seen that frame, and it is BEAUTIFUL! Grandis is just superb. Picchio...as always, your bikes are fantastic.
