Bike identification
Hi I need some help about identifying a vintage Peugeot bike.
I have read a lot of posts on forums and other resources over the net, but I cannot find the exact model...
These are the characteristics that may help you:
It is a city, maybe utility, bicycle.
The original color was purple, no chrome on the frame nor on the fork. Just some parts as the handlebar, headset, crankarms are chrome plated.
I am not sure about the decals cause I removed them before thinking about identifying the model of the bicycle, but for sure the head tube and seat tube decalls are not type III, nor type IV, nor type V "following this post:https://cyclespeugeot.com/ModelID.html". The most probable is to be type I.
The frame at first look is very common (like a PX10 I could say)
It has aztec type lugs.
The S/N is stamped on an aluminum plate on the underside of the bottom bracket shell.
It is composed by 7 number, no letters.
The first number is 2 so the frame has to be made on '72, wright?
The frame pump holders are lockated on the downtube.
It has an Atax stem with a handlebar as the one on this photo: https://www.flickr.com/photos/reefflo...n/photostream/
It has a rack toolbox exactly the same with that bike, but the bicycle frame is different (https://www.flickr.com/photos/reefflo...n/photostream/)
It has only one shifter lever attached on the right side of the top tube
The rear derailleur is a simplex prestige (maybe S001T)
It has no front derailleur.
The frewheel is an Atom 3-speed
It has 26" wheels with "650B Std 40-584 26*1 1/2" tires
It has chrome fenders and the bolt that holds the rear brake also supports the fender (the hole for that reason on the rear is drilled top-down)
The cable holders are all the same with the bicycle mentioned before. I can hardly see one on this photo, but I could not find another (https://www.flickr.com/photos/reefflo...n/photostream/).
Unfortunately, I have no photos of my bike...

Pictures are always nice but first...
Px10 bikes are not common and do not have Aztec lugs. The seven digit serial number suggests seventies but could represent a bike built in 1969 or as late as 1978 (just a rough guess). You removed the decals? Bad idea but you will understand that much better as your learn more about vintage bicycles.
That is about all I can share at the moment since I do not have enough information to work with. Did you look up Peugeot Catalogs? If so you might find what you are looking for...

It is like the PNC40 on the photo above. It is a man bicycle. The only difference is the position of the pump and the decals.. I am also not very sure about the handlebar.
Is it true that an 8 on the model number indicates Aztec lugs (e.x. UO8)?
