Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I built it.. Now you get to name it.

Well I finally got the final pieces to the Traveler single speed build. I have had alot of fun with this and have really spent alot of time on this forum getting ideas from others and learning about ss/fg bikes. I am the type person that names everything I own. Every car or bike has had a name. So with that being said I am going to let you guys name this bike. I am going to take entry's until Sunday night, then I'll draw a name and post it Monday. Just thought it would be a fun way to close this build. I have to post before and after just to show the work I put into it. Have at it guys.

Before

And after.

Actually, when I first clicked on the thread, I was pleased to see a nice looking bike. Then I was confused why it had gears, since this is SSFG. And then I saw it was a "before" picture, and I went :< .

Let's see, what would you name something born into classic beauty, a virgin then stripped of that beauty and manipulated into conforming to a modern fad with little lasting value?

I vote for "Lady Gaga".

I don't know about all that. I over paid 50.00 for it on CL. And it wasn't even rideable with all that needed to be fixed or replaced. I just wanted a steel frame single speed.
