Hi all, I am an expat currently living in Taipei,Taiwan. I am mainly interested in folding bikes.

My interest in folders was developed about 2 years ago. I was sitting in a restaurant in Taipei, this guy comes strolling in with a strange looking triangle shaped bike. He then proceeded to collapse the whole bike with 1 swift motion! I was totally amazed.

I had no idea what this thing was so I went home and googled "triangle folding bike". I quickly discovered that it was a Strida. And then from there, I learned about the numerous array of different folders out there. And of course I also discovered this forum. A little while later, my then girlfriend bought me a cheap folder from the internet. I rode that thing for awhile but now it's in a state of disrepair and barely ride-able, just barley.

I now have a very real need for a new high quality folder(commute for my job). As a bike enthusiast, living in Taiwan is advantageous as it is home to many of the famous bike companies. So not only do I have a wide selection of folders to choose from but the prices are also much cheaper here. Companies like Giant, Dahon, Tern, Pacific Cycles, Strida, Ori, Flamingo, and KHS are all based here.

I will have to make a big decision in the imminent future about which folder to get! But before I do that, I have to attend the Taipei Cycle Show which is starting this week!

Anyone else living in Taipei or Taiwan?
