Any recommendations on a helmet/handlebar cam?
Looking for something that's easy to use/upload to film my rides. Is there anything I should watch out for?

I've been looking at these lately. Essentially it seems to come down to two choices--countour HD and GoPro Hero 2.
Which one is better? No clue, I'm not that far into my research.

I have a ContourHD and a Contour ROAM. I like the ROAM better because the big slide switch makes it easy to turn on and off while riding so I can video just the interesting parts of my ride. Battery and 32GB memory card last about 3 hours so I can't video the whole ride.
You can find lots of video comparisons of Contour and GoPro on YouTube. Most people say Contour has better color and contrast while GoPro has slightly better detail. I chose Contour mostly because it is cheaper for the features I wanted. I'm happy with the image quality. Sound quality is not great, but I'm not singing when I'm riding my bike.

There's a lot of stuff out there. I have Contours (2 HD that I use regularly and a + that I haven't used on a helmet yet). I chose the Contour because it's easy to start recording (each clip doesn't start with you/friend staring into the lens trying to figure out if it's on), is fine for my layman's eye (it's sharp enough to capture license plates of cars passing close), and it's virtually impossible to drop off your helmet/bike. It's sleek, subtle if you put it on your bike, and durable (I hit one of my ContourHDs on the road at about 30 mph).
I wasn't impressed with the earlier gen GoPro. It was mine for free, I had two weeks to fiddle with it, and I gave it back to the guy that offered it to me, told him I wouldn't use it. I bought the Contours later.
Having said that the GoPro is better if you want a seatpost mount, at least I think so. This is for filming behind you.
The Contour is better for filming forward.

I bought a mini dv-GD10 for about 9 bucks. It is the size and shape of a key fob (720x480). I velcro'd it to my helmet and 5 min later some old woman in a SUV put me into the curb. The downside is it recorded my bad language but the fatal flaw is that the battery only lasts half of the hour promised. I still carry it in my jersey just in case I see something interesting.

I use Contour GPS, it works fine. It happens that it just stops recording for no reason, but really rarely. We suppose it is due to vibration or something. I bought it used so maybe there is something I don't know that causes this...

I've been thinking about getting the Cateye Inou GPS Camera. Looks very cool, however I've been waiting for more feedback from other riders before I go out and buy one.

Have a GoPro and it's a pretty amazing little camera. Haven't heard of the Contour.

She pulled up next to me and moved over. I expect that as motorists are looking left to merge so I was ready on the brakes. I would love to have two of these little cameras if they could last a couple of hrs.

Maybe you'll be happy with the results. Here's me with a Samsung HZ30W camera mounted on the bars:

I've had a GoPro HD 960 before, but I returned it and now use a ContourGPS.
I think the GoPro had a nicer video:

But I like the Contour better because of the simpler Record ON/OFF button
and the shape makes it easier to mount in different places on the bike:

ContourROAM here on helmet. 3hr battery life and good quality easy to use camera. It has survived 1 crash(self inflicted) and lived to tell the tale.

Contour, GoPro and Drift are all good choices. If you want to go real cheap there's the 808 #11, #16, or #18 avaiable on Ebay for around $40. It's the size of a car key remote and the video quality is decent. Maybe buy a couple and place them all over you bike

How is the battery life? My keychain camera only gets 30min but otherwise would be acceptable to me because of its small size.

That youtube link isn't working ^^.
I have an 808 #11 that I bought from some ebay seller in china. It reliably gets about 45min to a charge.
Here's a crash video:

I bought the Drift HD 170 Stealth from amazon for $160. It's 1089 with a 170 wide lens. It also has a screen built in so you can aim it easily. The lens rotates and it includes a remote. I am very happy with mine.
