Who commutes with a messenger bag?
I use a backpack on my MTB and I have a messenger-style bag for my laptop but never tried commuting with one. Are there any advantages to using a messenger bag over a backpack? Any suggested bags to look at?

Are there advantages? Yes. But not so much for a work commute, and even less so for a school commute.

Good point. I have a large laptop (17"). I could do a few trips to the local library. See how it goes.
My commute to work is mostly uphill. I wasn't sure how that would work with a messenger bag compared to a backpack.

Just curious, is what you have a true mess bag or is it more of a briefcase with a shoulder strap?

Since the OP said "messenger style bag", my guess it's shoulder tote.

Not a messenger bag, but I got this Levenger Bomber Jacket Backpack Brief for my birthday, and it is superb for carrying a laptop, change of clothes and incidentals. I likely would never have purchased it since it cost almost as much as my bike but it's sharp enough to tote into any office or boardroom.
