Pics? Since the velodrome is a few miles down the road I would not be suprised if there a few Ross track bikes.

Never seen one. Doesn't mean they do not exist. I really need to see pics; mostly out of curiousity. I would suppose they would be from the Ross/Kellogg/Redkay period in the eighties.

+1 Definitely need pictures. "Ross track bike" is way too vague to make any kind of assessment, especially based on the things I've seen that were called track bikes...

The Ross decal looks early 80s IIRC, but that's about all I can tell from the blurry non-drive-side photo. Can you post some better pictures? It's a really cool bike.

Really need more comprehensive photos. Stay bridge, track end area, drive side, decals. I hate to be a pain, because it is at least 50% curiousity on my part.

My Tom Kellogg / Ross road bike has the serial number stamped underneath the bottom bracket shell. Email Tom Kellogg - Spectrum.Tom@Gmail.com , with the serial number and some pics of BB shell and seatstay area, he will tell you who made it and when. By the way, Tom likes white track bikes, so there' that... I cannot believe I just (Sunday night!) spent way too much on an eBay track frame, your bike looks really nice (although rear dropouts point down?) Does KAS know about this?

You got a nice bike there, for sure. Since this is a thread about values, I'll give my two cents - The last two Spectrum track bikes I saw on eBay (complete, used, newer) sold for $550 (good deal) and $750 (prob. about right). I spent $400 for my Ross TK road bike(complete), but I was the only bidder. I think the Ross name probably hurts it's value to most people, but there are some who seek them out. Too bad it doesn't have the old pre-Ross "Tom Kellogg" decals, you might get a premium then. Probably too small for me, but it would look nice next to my other bike! Good Luck!

I agree on the fact that it says Ross on it to the laymen would hurt the value. We as bike geeks know better. Given the now documented history of the bike im thinking Its worth frame and fork alone round $750-$900. It is built full Dura Ace with a Cinelli Steel track stem. I think that is a fair price..But its not gonna be for sale..Its gonna hang on the wall in my shop for generations of bike nerds to talk about!

Here is an email I received from Tom Kellogg: Christian:
Heck yeah! That frame is the prototype / sample that I made for Ross when I went to work for them back in late '80. I didn't try to keep track of it so I don't know who owned it before you did. It is a pretty classic track frame of the early 80s: 74 seat angle, 75 head angle. General purpose sprint / mass start frame. Columbus PS tubing, 1053 dropouts, Cinelli FC crown etc. Anything else you want to know?

It is nice to read a builder get excited about his prior work. Be sure to send him a holiday card.
Maybe for a repaint or touching up.

By the way, I don't argue your estimate of value, the other bikes didn't have your fancy bar and stem, and what is that, a Pista headset? + $150 just for that
