Track ends with dérailleur hanger

Wasn't there a recent discussion regarding a trek with track ends and a derailleur hanger? I just accidentally won a frameset on ebay with similar specs. Mine has a cinelli bottom bracket and star cutouts on all the lugs (will post pics soon) and internal cable routing. What was the conclusion on the earlier discussion? Does my description ring any bells?

link to seller's flickr set

here are some photos of the frameset built up with what I had around. It took a 27.0mm seat post, don't know if that is significant....

you can see the cable routing for the rear (sort of). The track ends are shimano

the headtube calls for a 220mm steerer which is alot longer than any of the other 58cm frames I have, and the wheel clearance is extremely tight... the pic below is with a 700x25 wheel mounted with about 1-2mm offset at the fork end (probably not recommended, but works for now). Seems like I'll need to run like 700x19 or so on the front?

There was a Paramount posted here with Track ends but that did not have an RD hanger, just an RD hanging from the stay. How can "accidentally" win something on ebay?

Pics please

accidentally winning on ebay means you make a bid early thinking you'll be outbid, and then not being outbid. Pictures would be nice, Viner used star cutouts, but I'm sure there were others.

I accidentally won two bikes on ebay. It was weird. I don't even remember how or why I stumbled upon the bikes. They were fairly far from me, but at the shocking prices I paid, it was worth a day trip to go pick them up.

It is possible to put a derailleur on with track ends. I just don't remember how.

I had a Limongi TT bike that had track ends with a derailleur hanger so that you would have a short, tight frame. I would assume that is why this one does also but the set of bottle bosses under the down tube like on a touring frame makes one go hmmm???

Actually the Fleur de Lis looking crest in the fork crown looks kind of like the Limongi logo if I am remembering correctly.

speaking of not remembering things, I have a set of track dropouts with a derailleur hangar. Trying to decide what to do with it because it seems like it would be a pain to use if there were no braze ons for cables.

I've been thinking of putting a derailler on my DL-1. Couldn't you just use a bolt on claw? You'd have to take it out to remove the wheel though some could be stuck on backwards.
There are clamp on cable stops or you could run a cable the whole way.

That little detail is really perplexing to me... mounting a water bottle on the underside of the down tube?

The irony is that I the hanger will probably see no use... the internal routing is another story this frame has enough for an ant colony... top tube, down tube, bottom bracket... maybe I'll try to acquire one of those awkwardly named s3x hubs. In anycase, this guy is going to be my daily commuter.

Still would like to know the "provenance" of this frameset though.

Lots of touring bikes (real touring bikes ) have bottle mounts on the underside of the DT, so you can carry 3.

This could be a custom job... starting life as a track bike and then someone took it to a framemaker to add what you see now

Time trial bikes consistantly had "track" drops and a DR hanger.
The third bottle holder (under the down tube) was commonly used to hold a tool kit in a bottle shaped container.
No cable braze on? Electronic derailleur it is.
Hope this answers all your questions.

There's internal routing on the drive side chain stay and seat tube (I assume they are for dérailleur cables), but yeah... I'll post pictures soon, the more I inspect it, the more beautiful/unusual (to me) this frame becomes.

I have a set there on my touring bike. I use it to carry fuel for the camp stove.
