wow... i've never been a fan of trek, but the bottom bracket + fork crown designs are intriguing. Plus their claimed weight is intensely low.

I love 'em, I cannot wait to get the team deal on one of these at the end of the year! I love the new paint scheme and like the option of the pro fit vs. the performance fit. I would love to get my hands on a 6.9 pro fit, but think the 6.5 pro would be the most bang for the buck. The only difference I see between the two are the wheels and handlebars, not worth the extra couple of grand.

It must be intensely secret. I couldn't find it.

The claimed wait for the "fuselage" (frame and fork?) is 1420grams, compared to the Cervelo R3's 1490 in the same size.

Wow....looks pretty cool. I've always liked Treks, as far back as the late 80's....

OK, I give up. What's a 'fuselage'? Does anyone know the frame/fork weight? I did later find that section, but it sounded like something out of a Gulfstream Aerospace website, so I gave up on it. This is a friggin BICYCLE, Trek is going off like it's the next NASA Project.

This stuff is getting too complex. My weenie mind is too tiny to comprehend it. I'm keeping the Cdale and the Ibis until Dura Ace 12 speed debuts.

I don't know. I have this year's Madone. And while it doesn't look all swoopy like an Orbea or DeRosa, it's damn fast, comfortable, stiff and stable.

On the one hand, it seems like change for change's sake.

On the other, I've always had this notion that curved tube shapes would be inherently stronger than straight, and that a monocoque carbon frame would be stronger than a lugged one. But what do I know?

yikes supper proprietary. good for racers, but you are f'ed if you need to replace something.

none of the ideas on the bike are new, but they have taken some good things from other companies.

I hate to say it....but the paintjob looks a lot better than the orbea orca. I love it!

checked this thing out after my group ride and have to say, pretty impressive. Looks like Trek has figured out that they can't sell Lance as well anymore so they've really stepped it up. Can't wait to ride it.

Eventhough I prefer compact frames, I wished Trek would stay with the traditional frame. It was kinda their thing.
They should have just created a whole new line and kept the Madone with non-sloping tube.

Not made in the USA either. Looks like C'dale and Trek have sold their souls to the Far East.

The bare frames will come from Taiwan and go to Trek for paint, decals and clearcoat, which allows them to say 'Made in USA', but they aren't...

And the BB design? Marketing people, marketing...

Made in Taiwan, eh....not that those bikes are any less quality, but I liked the fact that my bikes were actually made by people employed in this country.

Looks like the Treks listed in my sig (and still have a few more not listed) will be the last ones I ever own.

We just got 4 of these into the shop I work at. They look pretty darn cool. I haven't built one yet, waiting on the head mechanic to build one first so if he f's something up its not my fault but it should be pretty darn cool.

I don't know where that information is coming from. The frames are still made in the USA.

Lance's comments are interesting...rides like a motorcycle. "It feels like a heavy bike." Interesting how they went from a numbering system to red, black, and white. Red's OCLV 55 and then downward to OCLV 120 (white).

Some of the Disco boys are riding the new Madones in the Critérium du Dauphiné race during today's stage one. There are a couple of pics at Graham Watson's site.

Just got a few of these built up at the shop I work for and I have to say...I'm impressed. 54cm 5.2 is sub 16lbs for $3200. The bike looks even better in person. Ultegra SL is quite attractive, the new Bonty Race Lites are just downright sexy, and the frame is very well designed IMO. They brought back a little of the old school Trek logo for the headbadge and on the top tube.

Some people won't like the integrated BB and headset design, but I'm starting to just accept that this is the way things are going. I don't think it's going to be hard to source bearings for these things and since you can use any of the Shimano cranksets I don't see a problem. Much better then needing a proprietary crankset IMO.

Anyway, I'm excited to get the 58cm built up because I would love to take one for a test spin. I have a feeling these things will be flying off the shelves very quickly.

I see a 64cm frame listed, ooo la la! Tall folks rejoice!
