Bikes: Klein, Merckx, Trek

Fixed Gear Beater - sawed off cable guides, derailleur hanger, shifter bosses, even the brake bridge! It was a free bike with original components, I transferred the fixie parts from another old fixie.

I need to at least take a photo that's in focus.

I used to have one - a "Master" with Shimano 600. It was too small, so I sold it:

Here's my '86 Master with Shimano 600 and an '89 Expert with Suntour GPX that was sold on CL.

Correction: An '87 Master with a frame produced in '86.

Curious, my '86 did not have a "Master" designation and Ashley's article indicates that the Master/Expert designation started in 1987.
What's the first number in your serial #? (6 or 7)

Serial # N6P3145

This bike was purchased from the original owner who bought it in '88. Back when T-Mar first started the Centurion serial # database thread, he ID'd it as an '86 or '87.

A year later and still a work in progress:

Mine's sold, but IIRC it began with "A6"; so mine must be from early 1986 and yours was built later.

'88 Master, $100 eBay, came w/STI 8-speed. I've upgraded severely, but it's still an Ironman.
My role model was dahoss2002. This is my tri-bike and a criterium this year.
What you see is about $532 w/shipping, is 19.7 lbs, fast enough for an old me.

Interesting '86 Master, as my '87 is a plain Ironman. Any chance that '89 Expert is still out there?

Long gone - sold it a year (or two) Christmas to a City Girl. Don't know if she still has it or rides it, but I don't keep the contact info of strangers I meet via CL so I'll never know. Last time I saw it was at the Lafeyette BART station, headed for San Francisco. You might start there......

Sorry.

I used BelDecal waterslide paper. Found a link through Sheldon's site. Thanks, Sheldon.
I clear coated them as the decals are thin, plus the clear adds a little UV protection.

Both rattlecan bikes were bought frame only so they were built up what was in my parts bin at the time.

The '86 came stock from the bike shop with the DC aero brake levers. The Shimano 600 group at the time (6207/6208) were still non-aero. I assume Centurion shipped them with the DC aeros, and I see Raverson's also has the DC aero levers with the 6207/6208 group

I have posted this several times, but what the heck. Here is my 1989 Expert GPX. It is pretty much original, except for the FSA Vero 50/34 crank, the Thomson seat post and the Fizik Aliante saddle. Every once in a while I get the urge to remove the dork disk and reflecters, but they have survived 18 years.

There's always a chance, Robbie.

Like BBM, I sold it a Christmas ago to the boyfriend of a city girl. Last time I saw it, it was being loaded into a BMW, headed for San Francisco. I imagine by now it has been stripped and fixed and hangs with the other SF hipsters.
