EAI Track Wheels?

I saw a pair of these wicked awesome track wheels at my LBS the other day - super clean, high flange, black, sealed bearing hubs that read "Grand Compe" or "Gran Corsa" or something like that. Asked about 'em and was told that they're produced by EAI and that they're the s**t, like a step below Phils but significantly cheaper ($350 for the wheelset as opposed to $400 for hubs alone). Anyone seen/heard anything about these? Anyone ridden 'em?

Yet another sealed bearing mid-range priced hub. They look like formulas to me. Check out where the flange is tapered for the spokes. It's right through the spoke holes like the formulas, on the suzues the taper starts on the outside of the holes.

I'm pretty sure it's been established that these come from the Suzue Pro-Max dies or molds or whatever.

This is true, they don't look exactly like Suzue hubs. For comparision: photos of Suzue hubs

They do look like Formulas but these are the first double fixed Formulas I've heard of.

Yeah the DiaCompe's look like unmachined Formula's. They are still really hot though.

How come in the description, they are fixed-free, but the photo is clearly fixed-fixed?

As far as I can tell just some hearsay and of course hearsay begets hearsay.

As I asked in the last thread:
Given that these look more like formulas then promaxes does anyone have any reliable evidence that they are in fact related to promaxes in any fashion other then the nut?

They look very much like my Suzue Promax. Wether they are made on Promax dies or not, they are clearly at least styled after them. A lot closer to Promax than Formula

as I've said before apparently people here didn't get to look at
at the drs office or something cause everytime there is a "is this a rebranded that" thread people fail to see obvious differences just because there is one similiarity.

diacompe/formula similarities or diacompe/promax differences
-ridge through spoke holes
-lip by bearing
-Shape of the inside flange on the rear
-bearings

diacompe/promax similarities or diacompe/formula differences
-no cutouts on the flange.
-nut and axle.

Bikes: yes

ANYHOW, whether they're secretely formula or secretely promax (they're neither), visitordesign has built a pair and says that they are very smooth. they sound like a good value to me.
