Hey everyone!
I need help. Want to build a snowflake pattern wheels( twisted spokes), but can't find any information on a web. I've build couple of wheels. Got some books about wheel building. Anyone can share experience? Thanx!

Its easy. Where the spokes cross just twist them around. The same spoke goes to same nipple. I cant remember how much longer the spokes need to be. It was either 3 or 6 mm.

Remember this type of build is for COSMETIC purposes only.

I think you are supposed to add 4 mm per twist.

And by cosmetic you mean flexy and worthless right?

No. I mean theres no advantage over the accepted technique standard cross no twist.

Back in the day we had some very big riders who swore by that pattern.

It actually will increase the stiffness of the wheel.

hey, what was the extra length you found to work? i'm assuming this is a pattern like below (normal 3 cross lacing with a full twist at the outermost cross -- so that the spoke goes into the hole on the rim that it was initially pointed at).

You don't need to add more than 2mm to the length. I did a bunch of these when they were popular in the nineties and found 1mm to work great with the Revolution spokes I often used. And butted spokes are easier to work with than straight.
