Not really. This is an attempt to see the effects of a title on how many folks view a post.
Since I posted pictures of "A Ride up Waterton Canyon," three days ago, only about 20 folks have viewed it.
I was just a little curious as to how many folks would view it if I changed the title a bit.
There has been great interest in pics of fit male cyclists and females cyclists. How about interest in pictures of rides?

I really do think that if someone takes the time and effort to take and post pictures, the rest of us should also participate in that person's joy and eagerness to share by, at the minimum, at least sneaking a look at the photos.
Otherwise, folks will simply stop posting pics. Hey, if no one looks, why post? Seems to me to that we should have as much interest in pictures of rides as in naked male or female, fit or not fit, cyclists!!

I saw the title - I saw the thread originator - I saw the forum it was in. I knew there'd be no pictures of "Nude Bikers in Waterton Canyon" so I had to investigate just to see what you were up to.

The score so far:

Posted for 3 days - 20 views recorded in the "view count" during the 3 days.
2. "Nude Bikers in Waterton Canyon - PICTURES"
Posted for 23 hours - 94 views recorded
3. "A Ride up Waterton Canyon"
79 additional views (after being linked from "Nude Bikers in Waterton Canyon - PICTURES" to "A Ride up Waterton Canyon")
4. Conclusion:
The title DOES make the post. At least as far as viewership.
So, we need to think about sexier and more provocative post titles, if we want folks to view what we post.
If we don't, boring titles such as "A Ride up Waterton Canyon" will guarantee that practically no one views what is posted. People will simply NOT click on a post with such an uninteresting title. Interesting.
Hey, all the auto manufacturers and others know about the need for sex in advertising. Why should the BF group be any different?
Also, I would venture to say that folks generally are not interested in general ride pics, and posting these is most likely a waste of effort on the part of the poster.

I think if you add to the title the word photo you might get more views-
for instance "Photo's of my ride up Waterton Canyon". Maybe add some words about bighorn sheep. The Scots and Kiwi's will tune in. :-)

Good "scenery" is always worth looking at. However, I love stories about rides on trails that are touring bike suitable. At this point I've traveled up to 500 miles to ride on a good trail. We have good trails in this part of the country, but new rides are what makes the world go round.

But those of us with dial up cannot easily view pics on threads.
Of course I clicked on this one since the photos would load quicker since it does not have to also load pictures of clothes.
