The ones I've tried just don't seem to last more than a few months before they start falling apart, likewise polyprop tarp although that lasts a bit longer.

It’s working fine now. There was no need to dispose of it (although many people would). It will require annual attention going forward, which I am happy to do. I do not intend to chuck it out.

Exactly, and the chances of us putting four of those things on daily are basically nil!

If we were living by the coast it’d be a problem with the salt air, but as it is they hold up remarkably well. I try and keep well on top of maintenance which helps.

I’d be tempted to have that chain a couple of links longer I think. Maybe you tried and with such a small cog up front it’s too flappy?

It’s an e bike, you size the chain shorter than with a non-assist bike. It’s fine.
