yes, makes it plausible that date on mech indicates it could be original

had been thinking that it must have been a replacement
(so much for me insights! )

also means more time for the Tecno Tubo Torino saddle pillar to be original

---

btw -

it has now been a few weeks since our last visitation from DCI MauriceMoss

he is sure to sort your frame in no time

I had a conversation with BobJackson in late 1974, I mentioned my Bob Jackson track bike had suffered a distorted BB shell from most likely being clamped 1/2 way down in a vise.
I had to face it down to 66.5mm to get close to enough of a working parallel face pair.
We had other frames that Jackson produced with the same fate, reason the shop bought a Campagnolo tool kit and often used Phil wood bottom brackets in those bikes.
Bob admitted that some of the Lads might have cranked them down too tight.
He wrote out for me his take on a pair of new bikes, noting that when ordering to remind me of the conversation and he would use the new Roto investment cast bottom brackets at no added cost.
Otherwise they were an up charge.

The quick reply and edit feature is askew in the last few days for me, no matter the browser or device.

I never ordered a pair of bikes from Bob Jackson. I went with Masi.

he made a trip to the U.S. just as the boom was getting into high gear

once he groked the situation he could not get home fast eno' in order to get those subbers to start cranking 'em out faster

they would supply the frames in bare metal which were then painted and transferred at the BJ facility

dunno if thar be a way to tell the subbed ones from the in-house produced ones

I think the Olympus model was always in house. Keven Sayles mentioned he made most of them while he was there. This was the frame with the extended reinforcements under the down tube and behind the seat tube.

Found the Pogliaghi group on FB. They don't think it was made by Pog. All input welcome, one of the against points is the very deep fish mouth finish. Where is a Moss when you need one?
