Bag Balm. Put some on your bag, and everything else down there.

Make your own! I've been doing it for the last year and it's saved me a ton of money, and has near identical ingredients to the Assos creme.
1x tub of Udderly Smooth
2x tablespoons of Witch Hazel (an astringent)
1x teaspoon of Tea Tree Oil (also an astringent, but gives the cooling effect)

Same here ..... except back in the prehistoric days of real leather chamois that needed to be softened after washing.

until they start giving upgrade points or prizes for most calloused taint, bragging about not using chamois cream will not cease to amaze me.

I've never used this as chamois cream, but I put it on my kid's butt all the time. It looks like it'd do the trick well. https://www.blairex.com/BLButtPaste.php We generally use the one in the light green tube, but they're all similar.

Mad Alchemy is my favorite, but it's really spendy. I like Assos too but also spendy. I have a chamois butter Euro style that I like, it's a little less pricey but I'm not a big fan of normal chamois butter. A&D and vaseline have a greasy feel I dont particularly like.

I've only ever shredded my taint once but it was enough to begin using chamois cream. Now I just like using it. Unless it's really hot I don't prefer the minty stuff. The Chamois Butt'r good but their Euro Style is too strong for my sensitive bits so I keep an Assos around for when I want more spice. I don't find it has much staying power though, need to find something a bit more viscous that'll hold up to 4+ hour rides.

I never used anything down there until I upgraded from a heavily used and broken in Toupe that was falling apart to a brand new Toupe of the same size. Breaking it in unfortunately also broke my bum, and saddle sores were common! Had to use it ever since.
