Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It's not used, I'm the first to ride it. Her boyfriend does PR marketing for several companies and forgot he had this in the box in his garage, she built it up for me and had me try it out. So I'm the first to actually ride it.

They are indeed the Aksiums but they say Race not Equipe. (Forgive my noobness) But does that make the difference? I know the Ksyrium Equipe is one model up from the Aksium but as far as I know there is only one model of the Aksium.

Raleigh definitely outshines other Asian-sourced bicycles in terms of their attention-to-detail and overall finish.

I know. That's why I said what I said.

The bike is now mine . I've got a different saddle (SQ-Labs 611) put on, and will have my new pedals and shoes soon too.

Sweet! Congratulations. After my earlier post, I still don't see this model in their 2009 lineup. Looking at the diminshing specs of the increasingly expensive Treks and Specs, you've done very well.

Go ahead and pull the trigger on one. The frame is made of Easton carbon fiber, the same carbon that BMC's are made of. For 2009, their top of the line carbon frame comes with a BB30.

I'm pretty stoaked on the bike, I must say it's been a really impressive ride so far and I'm eager to really put some miles on it!
