Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

There are too many a holes on this forum.

Bottom line...sweet bike. Love the wheel choice and stem/bar combo!

Very nice bike! I like that Specialized has toned down the branding because it wasn't too long ago that they plastered their name on every available space. Enjoy and let us know how you like it.

KCNC skewers--have you used them before? Curious if you've experienced any slippage or having to really tighten it down.
KCNC FTW!

I've been on them for about a year and haven't had any slippage problems. As yes, actual weight is 44g.

Speaking of which, OP, I recommend you point them forward. As someone else mentioned, best to avoid catching wheels, but also the KCNC skewers in particular are designed to be pointed that way (logo orientation is upside down otherwise).

Nice looking ride!

But let's face it.

It's no Cervelo.

That's a great bike. There's one at my LBS - it's I think 13.3 without pedals and zipp 202.

yup go take a look at them and if they are pointing back you will see they read CNCK. Backwards probably is best for mountain biking for the reasons you've given.

Here is a more recent pic of the bike in a more fitted config with its new seat and seatpost. I had to put my old seat on there initially because Specialized seat posts are not compatible with Fizik rails.
