-16F on Tuesday and -18F yesterday for my 10 mile RT commute. Calm winds so it was no problem. Around here they cancel schools for greater than -40F windchills (kids safety). That is the point I cancel my commute.

Too cold? Depends on how far. I went to the store last week... < a mile away... with temps well below 0F with just a pair of jeans on my legs and a single pair of wool socks om my boots. No ill effects.

I would have to think twice if it was a 10 mile ride.
