people assume you have lost your license because of DUI. Then think its stupid when you tell them you do it because you like it.

when the great blue heron that lives at Ballard Locks, Seattle doesn't blink (or move) while perched on the handrail of the locks while I pass by walking my bike 4 feet away.

On the rare occasion that you do drive your car is loaded to the roof with stuff that you'd always want to bring, but it was either too big/cumbersome, too heavy, too delicate to transport with a bike. And the drive home is the same.

when you decide to quit your job because your employer intends to move to a new office building ten miles away, and the new commute, though not too far, would be far too dangerous.

The first ride of the season on studded tires in freezing weather actually generates good feelings.

I know I've been bike commuting a long time because people make boneheaded moves in traffic that make me veer or brake, and I hardly notice. I see complaints about these moves here in the Commuting forum, and it reminds me that those things used to irritate me a lot.

I can identify with what you're saying. The longest track stand I ever did was behind a large school bus full of kids. It felt like it was going to take forever for them to leave the bus. At least I broke my track standing record which lasted a good couple of minutes, I felt really good afterwards.

you get grouchy when you have to drive to work.
you never have those decisions to make in the morning, because you already know that you're riding, what the weather is, and what you wear for it.
you never have that morning coffee any more.
you take more showers at work than at home.
you forget how bad those hills used to be.
drivers yell at you and it's mostly someone saying hi (because they're used to seeing you there)
