commuted home last night. I leave my car at my parents house so I won’t have to pay parking fees, so my parents picked me up at the airport. Driving to their house we get ran off the side of the road by a mercedes. Collided with the passenger side of our car, and they took off. Looked like he was trying to flee the scene but we caught up with them and the police showed up. My parents paid the car off in July.

He tried to run twice. He ran after he hit us, we got him to stop when it became apparent we weren’t gunna let him get away. He got out of the car and started talking to my mom, he offered to get his insurance and took off again. He drove by several parking lots but again we chased him down. He said he was looking for a place to pull over. None of it made sense.

I hate to be on the side of frequently out of touch with reality @Vel Vol but that's a lot shifting.

I guess I’ve been duly chastised by pros on the net on my overuse of my shifters. I posted the pic because I happened to see it today on my Garmin and thought it interesting in regards to earlier discussions. I’m guessing that many people shift more than they think but don’t have the ability to record it.
Personally, I would think that a lot of shifts indicates a highly experienced rider making efficient use of his gears.

Actually because of the shifting talk, today I was more cognizant and seemed to shift more than I realized. That said, 9 shifts per mile on a flat ride? Better go to shifters anonymous.

I wonder if maybe I just shift too much. On a typical 60 mile ride I am likely shifting hundreds of times. The terrain here is quite varied.
Most likely I will sit tight with my 10s drivetrain for another year or two, and upgrade to the next generation Shimano, cable vs Di2.

Perhaps good Doug is coming over to the dark side. Sad! The best we have is average Doug.

Back in maybe May, when I started riding again during lockdown, I got it in my head that I wanted a 2000-2001 Litespeed Ultimate frame to build up, like I'd built up the Battaglin back in 2007. I combed Ebay and Craigs List. There was one on Craigslist - right age, right size, right price. I dawdled. It sold. Nothing came up for a few weeks, so I started looking more broadly. I started looking at current road bikes, for the first time since 2008. I ended up getting the Canyon Endurace, which I love. Discs, lots of gears, comfy, etc. It's what got me back into Bike Forums.
Didn't miss the Litespeed at all! Until just now.
Checked Craigs List on a whim. There's a 2001 Litespeed Utimate. Size 59 - just my size. $1300. Hard to justify a FIFTH bike, even if I DO have the scratch. Guess I'll dawdle and miss this one, too!

As an aside, though - so many Litespeeds I see seem to have a fat stack of spacers and an upturned stem. What's up wit' dat?
