I just got some of the Tektro compacts. I have them mounted on my Ritchey Biomax bars that I haven't put on my bike yet. But I like the feel of them and all I hear are good things.

About that cloth shellac tape stuff. I personally think it looks awful and painful.

Does anyone know if there is a non-brifter cross style lever that has quick release incorporated? I want to use bullhorns, but just found out the Campy brakes I bought on Ebay are designed to be used with levers with QR.

The Cane Creek SCR-5 levers have a quick release. They have fairly fat hoods, but if you don't mind that they're pretty nice.

he's looking for cx levers...

if you cant find cx levers with a QR, then maybe just use the barrel adjuster & release some air when you need to remove your wheel..?

Good point. For me, it's mostly levers. Calipers don't stand out as much on the bike when there's only one.

Or just open the QR on the caliper?

Campy brakes don't have this, that's the issue.

They're designed to go with campy levers that have a QR built in.

I don't know personally I think the fewer the levers the better. I like the look of one but zero look even better. However, I am in the process of my first SS/FG conversion and will mostly be riding SS so I'll be using the front brake.

definitely not wrong, but you have to admit it's not the most comfortable tape to use.

Not much fun, since I ride in the in the city and often have to remove a wheel and lock up several times a a day. Looks like I may be buying another brand of brakes, or switching to vintage Campy records.

yeah, that would suck then.
just flip 'em on the CL & buy something with a QR.
too bad, though. I've purchased plenty of stuff without researching
& ending up selling them - always a pita.
