I agree, 2 months ago I spent $125 for a pair of Continental GP5000 Tan sidewall tires for my Litespeed . Even Low Budget Tan sidewall tires go for about $70 a pair nowadays . I kept riding my Tan Specialized Turbo tires on my Eddy Merckx for as long as I could do it safely . I finally switched out to Vittorias,,OUCH $.

Reynolds? Ah, no. "R.C. tubing" FTW!

Which, in all probability, means this frame came from the Superia factory of Remi Claeys in Belgium, not from Halfords' own frame building shop (which they had). And yes, I'll be keeping the Halfords decals, as I'm kind of partial to them. I grew up with those stores.

And then there's Queen's Bicycle Race video, of course, featuring Halfords bikes (yes, there are bikes in the video) and giving the brand some proper street cred.

Define "necessary". I used to keep my bike tools in a little Craftsman tool box with one lift out tray. I now have a Craftsman 9 drawer top box and 4 drawer middle box dedicated to bicycle tools plus a couple bike tools that are to big to fit in a toolbox.

Thank you for the education to this ‘Murican that is not familiar with R C tubing.

“Bonderized” - I love the marketing jargon companies make up.

haha! my tool collection has also grown significantly over the years. i had an opportunity to buy a Park truing stand and headset press at a bike store liquidation sale this past weekend and decided to pass on them, with some regrets.

In the sixties and seventies, the Ateliers Remi Claeys consisted of the Superia bike factory in Zedelgem and a tubing factory in Lichtervelde. It seems logical that they would use their own tubing, at least until 1978, when they stopped the production of steel tubing. Later Superia bikes I've seen often had Ishiwata decal, like my Superia Apollo Super Star.

About 'Bonderized', BTW, on the off chance anyone's interested: Bonderized Steel: A Comprehensive Guide
