Thanks!
Haha, well that probably was me. There were two of us, the other guy is a bit older. The main promoter had already gone through the reg list and made sure everyone had an active license so we knew ahead of time who was and wasn't licensed.

Nice work. I guess I was just in the wrong place, the brake checking was bumming me out. For the first lap I felt like I was in the back of the bus with the bike handling special needs kids so I moved up, I was right behind you when I flatted. When did the break that stayed away go?
The break that stuck went in the middle of lap 3 if I'm remembering right? It was one of those things that formed when I wouldn't have expected it to form (but I'm dumb), and I assumed it would be brought back because the earlier break was and the wind was gnarly. In fact I believe we were within 10 seconds of it at the top of the "hill" in Athens on lap 4, but for whatever reason people stopped working and it rolled and took 1.5 minutes out of us. In retrospect I assume teams that were not represented got their guys across and then sat up when they had accomplished their jobs; I should've jumped to it at that point but I was convinced it was going to be reabsorbed and that there would be a counter I'd need to save my legs for.

At least an hour. There is ice everywhere. However the sun is out and the course is salted so we shall see.

Scratch that, I have black grime from yesterday coming out of my eyes. I think I will spend this gifted hour flushing head holes with water.

out walking the earth
I'm really, really tempted to go bury myself in the basement for two hours and then help my wife with house hunting stuff. I just walked the dogs and it's damn cold out.

Sick as a dog apparently, which is why I didn't feel like racing. Thanks to the guys that helped out. I got to spend time spreading a few hundred pounds of salt and sweep snow with @island rider (how do I do a space) and @shovelhd. @theKillerPenguin, @globecanvas, @gsteinb, all supporting the race. Thanks so much.

Ya, I would have said eff that. I don't mind snow at a cross race, but those tires have knobs and are inflated to like 20 psi.

Meh, the roads were fine, and as long as you kept moving you felt warm enough. The main issue was equipment icing up. Every time I used the brakes I had to undo them with my fingers because so much ice was built up. Here's a photo of my rear derailleur a few minutes after the finish. Solid ice.

Just to be clear, we didn't spread salt and sweep snow. Well, I think shovelhd did, but the rest of us were just users, advantage-takers, and greedy bastards. CDR did all the work and got all the fevers.
Or wait, there's a period there. Maybe island rider swept snow too. Look, I didn't sweep snow, that's all I know. I came, enjoyed a nice day at the races, ate a massive capicola and hot pepper sandwich, and drove home. All thanks to CDR.

You were one of the first to try out Angelos and motivated me to find someone to go buy food there.
One of the guys that used to do instruction at the clinics, I think he has an account here, he helped with the salt also.
The biggest thing was to deal with the uncertainty of the schedule. That was the hardest I think.

I was sitting and waiting, watching CDR with a hand truck and a broom, I couldn't not offer to help.
Bought something called a Manwich at Angelos after. Truly fantastic sandwich. Totally not on the diet though.
