I dropped the kid. Actually after he fell asleep he kind of slid off the Boppy (my lap) onto the rug (good thing it wasn't tile). I was eating, he was in a slippery blanket, and I wasn't holding him with either hand.

Clunk.

After that second of "wtf???" he cried really loud for about 20-30 seconds. Then he looked at me like "holy eff man, you gotta watch my back", blinked, and then did that whole "I'm the Terminator and I'm scanning your face with my invisible laser for identification purposes", i.e. stared at me without blinking for a long time.

I decided to hold him, no help, going forward, and always one arm around him (instead of just laying him down on the Boppy on my lap).

Jeepers. 20 years of this to go.

Sorry for all the losses going around. It's been a rough time lately for everyone it seems.

In wussy news, I put a chainring tooth into my knuckle taking off pedals. Didn't have the chain on the big ring, like an idiot. Ended up stabbing it all the way to the knuckle. To get it cleaned out we decided to hit up the ER, that took forever of course.

I like this thread.

Checking in - it's been a while. It's nice to see so many familiar folks. Bummer to read about death though. Life shouldn't be so hard.

Life is good here. My focus has been on the family, work, and hobbies. I took a new job in February. WRT biking, the bad news, my commute went from 3 miles to 25. The good news, my bike apparently likes to ride 50 miles per day. Who knew? It hasn't been good for my BF time though. First race sucked. I rode like an idiot. All of my numbers are up though.

An 11 year old at a local middle school killed himself a few weeks ago. 11 years old and he felt he had nothing to live for.

I've been doing Volt recalls for a couple weeks. It involves lots of getting down on the floor, crawling around, and getting back up. My knees and legs are tired of it. It makes me feel tired when I get on the bike.

In more cheerful news, we have a really cute kid. I love him to death. I can't wake him up so I'm looking at pictures of him.

Awesome shot, CDR. Don't worry about the drop. That's not the worst that'll happen in his life. Just don't let Mom know about it!

take 4. your GPA for senior year doesn't even matter and schools will like when they see that you're pushing yourself senior year. not to mention, ap tests are absurdly easy. take advantage of them while you have the chance and you'll thank yourself next year.

don't kid yourself. by the time he's 13-14 he's not going to care one wit about you.

I knew a guy who killed himself when we were 15 or 16. It was pretty shocking, and he did it in a sad, violent, and bizarre way. Kids add quite a bit to the TSS.
