Yeah, that’s mine. It’s a 1969 Raleigh Competition with small amounts of Gugificazione (bottle cage bosses and mid-fork rack mounts). Not quite a period-correct build — only the shifters and headset are original.

I joined @merziac and his son for a ride out on the Columbia River Trail. On our ride out to Cascade Locks we encountered several areas impacted by recent storms. Overall the trail is in a poor state of repair though almost entirely ride-able. Large sections are currently covered with fall leaves and other debris. Still, it was a nice day for a ride with temps hitting 65 degrees!

I miss the PNW! Thanks for all the great pics of places I've been.
Just on the other side of the from the picture of the ferry, is a far with small gauge railroad that was open during pumpkin harvest time. Go for a ride on the train was a fun experience not to mention the detail of the steam engine that was hand built. No pics.
We lived on the other side of the Portland hills so didn't ride at all on the east side with one or two exception along the river. Did a lot of motorcycling though!
Picked up my Colnago in Hood River, of all places, in 2009 a year + before leaving.

I live near what I think might be the last pole operated (long stick, not a person from Poland) ferry in the US. It has a very limited schedule but was OOC when I went down there last year due to high waters.
Short ride around town today to shake out night shift cobwebs. I saw this guy hanging out. He watched me as I stood about 20 ft away to take the picture and then when I looked down, he started slinking away glancing over his shoulder, no doubt hoping I wouldn’t notice. Regretted not riding my Heron as I’m sure that would have been a good ice breaker.

It's been a highly stressful few months for me (multiple shootings at the bar on my block), so today I rode the Lemond into the woods to hug some trees and just listen to some relative silence. Then when I got home, I did a quick-n-sloppy 650b swap...

I like a classic ride depiction
Even after all the wind - still a little Fall, lining some little paths
Trying out brand new winter bib tights with the colder weather shoes. Too warm to really test them other that fit and comfort. I will be good to my minimum = ~38*f on a normal Puget Sound winter day, or down to a sunny 30*, if thru a dry patch of days. No ice for me, no matter how thin on that shady curve ahead….

stopped to talk and asked if the bay trail would get him to pt Richmond. It does, but it follows down along an unscenic Parkway. He wanted to follow the waterfront so I told him "Well, yes, you can pass the gun range, loop out around the landfill and then cut over behind the sewer plant..." He looked bewildered. I laughed and acknowledged it didn't sound too enticing.

And I actually did one. On the classic MTB (Giant Team worldcup). Rode till every part was covered with mud. Pity it always takes such a long time to clean it all up, but hey: that's life!

Fairly nice weather today took a nice short ride on recently got zero dollar curb bin build Globe ATB Cruiser for testing before it goes away as a donation. Haven't built a bike this year so this low one is likely it. Actually rides petty good on pavement but sucks on dirt.

Had to chat with the owner about the bar/lever arrangement.
He bought the bike complete for a few dollars.
The rear wheel has a mix of shiny and black spokes, he needed to replace some and only black were available.
He rides with this setup on local rides, and rotates the bars to a more typical position when riding longer.
It came with no front deraileur, but he is fine to leave it on the big ring with his 5 cogs in back.
The guy seemed to know it's a bit of a comedy bike, but he could not care less.

I rode to the auto parts store a few miles away, to get an oil filter wrench. And to make sure the new grease in the hubs was working, as well as the bearing adjustment. I made it home.
