I know you've already changed your mind, so this advice may not be as relevant to you specifically, but if a person attempting 2000 feet of climbing has had basically no experience with climbing and/or is out of shape, it might be less of a "fun ride" and more of a "strenuous workout."

I say this from experience, because, when I first started biking, I used to go on almost daily 25-30 mile jaunts on a perfectly flat bike trail, and I felt as though I could continue biking forever. Then I moved to somewhere less flat and discovered I could barely ride five miles on actual terrain, and that maybe I wasn't in as great shape as I thought I was.

This was also on a road bike, so I definitely wouldn't recommend lots of climbing for a non-biker(?) if she doesn't even have gears to use. Granny gears are your friend.

I see what you mean. hm...

She's on a road bike btw, 28 speed or something blasphemous like that. I wouldn't do it fixed either lol.

Is folding clothing too hard for you? Does it make you fall over and poke yourself in the eye?

*burst to color*

Well, all your folding woes are solved with the new Duct Tape! Just unroll an arms length of tape, violently pin your jacket down on the ground, and tape away! You'll be amazed at the tiny waterproof ball you can make! It'll be packed so well in fact, that you won't ever need to roll up your jacket again!

Get one roll of Duct Tape for only $19.99. But wait! If you call right now, we'll throw in a packet of thumbtacks absolutely free! They come in 16 different colors! Stick them in your bike tires for extra flair!

Don't wait! Call 1-867-5309 now!

however it fits.

i typically fold it in half hamburger style, then proceed to roll it up in a cylinder. stuff it in ur pocket.

u can do this without getting off the bike if you're a boss.

Any recommendations for getting a fitting done in the Atlanta area?

I recently switched to clipless pedals (shimano/yellow) and after a couple of weeks of adjustment I still can't find a happy cleat location. I'm getting anterior knee pain at the patella of both knees, from what I suspect is too much lateral movement during my pedal stroke. Both knees tend to move towards the toptube at the top of the stroke. Knee movement with platforms and straps is much reduced over clipless and has never produced any pain.

You probably need wedges in either your footbed (insole) or your cleat.

Try Peachtree Bikes. This is the shop whose team I'm on.

Also consider:

All3Sports (Pricey, but worth it. Probably overkill. They specialize in high-end triathlon stuff.)

Fuji track pro frame (not frameset) $250? You recommended looking into the fuji track pro so I've been keeping my eye out for one. Well it popped up locally and was wondering what a fair price would be concerning it's just the frame.

He says he bought and never ended up using it. Who knows if it's bs or not. Not sure if that matters either if it's in really good shape.

I don't think I've ever recommended that frame. Are you sure?

Thought it was you. I was looking for a super pista originally and was told to keep an eye out for fuji track pro, along with another bike or two because most of them were made the same if not the same place. Also had similar geo. What do you think about that frame?

I could be imagining things like usual. I day dream a lot.

What year? The ones that were on sale were terribly designed. The seat collars slipped and some of the chainstays were not crimped. The older (2007 style) are great.

It's kinda hard to say. Maybe 5mm? Rollers really help sort this out. Get on the rollers and warmup, then experiment with raising and lowering the saddle maybe 5mm at a time and get on and ride a high cadence. Pay attention to how hard or easy it comes. Also notice if your butt is hopping or not. So, now it comes down to trial and error and what works for you.
