That ad was made well in advance of the Tour, right? And those two guys just happen to ride along side of each other on a climb, with no other gc contenders in sight, the day the ad starts getting aired?
HMMMMMMMMMMM.
HMMMMMMMMMMM.

Schleck's voice sounds exactly as he speaks English, which is quite proficiently. Contador on the other hand does not sound like himself in more ways than one. I have heard him on several interviews in Spanish and it doesn't even sound like the same person at all. Voice sound AND content. He is not shy, but rather reserved and modest. He speaks quite well and in an intelligent manner. It does not come across when attempts other languages that he does not master well. That is very common actually. You should hear Amstrong murdering French, and he is thought of speaking French quite well!

I'm surprised their max wattage is less than 1000. Their FTP and watts/kg are probably massive though.
Also, that's probably the best cycling commercial ever.

Are you saying that you believe those are actually their true max?

They aren't going to say, but they certainly aren't going to be conveniently 1w apart.

So if it was obviously a joke, then those obviously aren't real numbers...

Which is why I said "sub 1000". I would have thought there would be at least a kernel of truth when you compare those unremarkable numbers to the other somewhat more remarkable claims of the commercial.

Even if the numbers are real, "max" is a rather nebulous term anyway.

If you're used to hearing Spanish accents from people from Mexico or Central America, a Spanish accent from an actual Spaniard, can sound "gay" to some ears, because the "s" sound is pronounced as a "th" sound, which can sound a bit lispy.
Not that there is ANYTHING wrong with that.
