I have a pair of spy glasses with the mirror built into the lens. It’s perfect to watch people and they don’t even know you are. I only use for cycling

when I’m spying on people I ise a newspaper with two holes in it

Of course I use a rear view mirror, and I think everyone should use one for their safety.

When I hear a car coming from behind, I watch him in my mirror. My main concern is a fool on their cell phone. I watch to see that they are going to give me passing room. If not, I will be riding into the ditch.!!!!!

I use a mirror on my bike to see in front of me. That way, if I am looking over my shoulder, I won't hit as many potholes.

Definitely on a recumbent as you can't rotate as far left and right sittin gin a "lawn chair".
I use a helmet mounted mirror and one on the trike. Every bit of info is helpful when making decisions in traffic.
