Bikes we like

The Recumbent Quant
Here is a bike I like; mostly because I made it. It's a new version of my 2 speed folder. There is a long blog post about it here
For what it's worth, I'd call it a (very quickly) packable bike, but it's not clear the distinction is very important.
Here's the cool video from your blog post:

Wow, just when I was thinking all bikes are boring this comes along.
Hoping there's no slop in the frame with so many pivots; this new to me design really looks portable, light, but rigid enough to be fun with standard components and no chain growth when folded.
Although it's a bit long when folded its held vertically so the footprint folded looks small and would be great on a commuter train.
If any bike needs a funding backer it's this one.

Also loving the disc brakes and the seatpost doesn't need to move.
The bike looks like a finished product already. Hope it comes to market soon.

New folder by Vladimir Suzko, Minsk, Belarus.
Although it's a bit long when folded, it's held vertically so the footprint folded looks small...

dibalsi comparason
Always thought the ultimate folding bike would be along the lines of the dibalsi r4 fold. No main frame hingne, seatpost doent need adjustment. Folds in to slim package rather than squarieish

I believe the color they used for the frame was called Red Beige.

Looks to me like a bike from the 1980's, (ignoring the belt drive) but yes, a very nice looking bike! Given when Ritchey started building bikes, 1980's isn't too surprising.
Nothing wrong with new frame designs, but newer rarely means better, it just means newer.

The Ritchey breakaway has a different downtube to BB connection; like a muffler clamp. This one seems to have a clamped tube arrangement. I wonder if it is designed to resist twisting, like the Herse demountable bikes.
