Just above is the Supersix Evo. And, top pic which is top pick is the new Cervelo R5. Sorry EVO, R5 with squoval (truncated airfoil) tube shape FTW. But then again, I am biased. Both all arounders and of course great bikes. The new R-series is the most 'solid' bike I have ever ridden. Kind of looks solid too even though featherlight. Better not run those tire pressures up too high. I only made that mistake the first couple of rides

Do you do your own maintenance Bruce? Ever pull the cams out of a 4V for a valve service?
To me, Ducati's have no peer in terms of motorcycle art. I stopped riding motorcycles for precisely what happened to you on a bicycle...I just felt like an imminent left turn or pull out would do me in...and am so sorry to learn of you getting hit on a bicycle and badly hurt. A friend of mine I have ridden a thousand miles with in club A-group rides was killed on his bicycle 2 months ago and other friends badly hurt and still recovering.
I know nobody gets out of life of alive and better to burn out than rust out but I all said I prefer cycling to motorcycling...though the latter has no equal when it comes to pure excitement. What greater thrill then reefing on the throttle of a 4V Ducati and trying to keep the front tire down? The sound and rush of acceleration so intoxicating.
I too at my age would struggle with supersport ergonomics...have always preferred a standard with more wind exposure and upright ergos...and don't like feet forward ergos...no doubt we agree there...but too rearward and leaned forward too hard on my neck and wrists...more of a younger man's position of course meant for the track more than the street.
I now in advancing years prefer a French fit on a bicycle. Are you still able to ride a bicycle and if so what do you choose and what kind of fit?

I don't do my maintenance. That's because my son was a Service Mgr./mechanic at a local dealership. When I realized I could no longer ride the SS1000DS I told him he could have it in return for him doing all the maintenance on my Monster. I spend most of my time on my Guru these days so the Ducati is used locally and maybe a couple weekends with friends. As for bikes and fit.....I have a circa 2006 Masi Gran Criterium S (AL frame with CF fork and stays, Dura Ace in size 58). A long story but the frame is a bit big although manageable. I also have a Guru Sidero (Steel frame w/CF fork and all SRAM Red in size 55). The 55 is perfect for me. I still size bike using the method I saw in the Greg LeMond book decades ago. I can't remember whether that's race, French or Eddie. I should go back and look. FWIW, I broke my neck back in July of 2013 and was back on the rail/trails that November.
Yes maintenance on the Monster V4 is not for the faint of heart. 2 valve variants much easier to manage but that breathing makes a BIG difference.
Speaking of supersports...if you want to get your mind blown and understand...which you do... the many different levels humans perform on, watch this video. A top concert pianist of motorcycle riders with balls the size of Montana:

To each his own. I've always found this to be one of the sexiest frames and wished I had one in my size:

So lemme see if I got this right ...
1- we start a thread about the aesthetic qualities of a bicycle, yet the OP provides no picture of the bicycle. Go figure.
2- just a few posts later someone posts pictures of race cars, thereby opening the door of off topic posts.
3- just two posts later someone posts pictures of racing boats. Boats? Really?
4- a few posts later we finally get a pic of a bicycle, but it's not the right bicycle.
5- a bit later we see the introduction of motorcycles to the thread ... I mean, compared to boats and cars at least it has 2 wheels, right?
6- soon someone posts a picture of scantily clad womenz, further nudging the thread off track.
7- mind you, we STILL have no picture of the right bicycle.
8- FINALLY one merciful fella posts a picture of the right bicycle, but . . .
9- shortly thereafter he jumps back on the motorcycle bandwagon.
10- someone else has the gall to even post a heinous pic of a mountain bike, of all things. Have you people no shame?
11- and the motorcycle trend continues. SMH
I mean I get it guys, the Evo conversation simply held no interest. But what the OT posts tell me is we need to maybe reopen one of the Hot or Not threads. So I'll look into that, it might be doable.
Later.
Oh by the way, no more scantily clad womenz pics please.

Let's take Cervelo. They took a risk with the new S5. A controversial front end with 'riser stem' and peek-a-boo window. They will sell a few of them. They will sell more S3's with conventional stems. What will they sell more of? What I own, the R-series. The S-series looks more like a rocket. The R-series is Cervelo's interpretation of the 'modern classic' road bike. Their words and they are right. They have the C-series for guys who don't like to bend over as far. An endurance bike will never have the sex appeal of a more full blown racer like the S series or even R series. But, they will sell a boat load of C-series because they cause less pain when riding...what oldsters appreciate.

Only because you bought one..
Its just another diamond frame bike ,, Cannondale no longer makes their own bikes anymore , (no Bedford PA factory)
they went off shore, years ago.. OEM factory making multiple brands, is the way the biz works these days..

Matt Stephens' new Colnago. This is as good as a bike can get. I realize this contradicts my earlier post about the SS Evo. This is better. I have seen the light.
Now that I've veered dangerously back on topic, what do we think about this Seafire as the best looking aircraft ever constructed?

Depends on whether you like the look of a bike with straight tubes and minimal aero profile shaping, or if you like the aero thing. Personally, I think a nicely built up SS Evo is about as "good looking" as a bike can get, but it's still just a bike.
As a motorsports fan, it's kinda like the preference for simple, older F1 cars versus a more modern design covered in complex aero appendages.

I can think of at least two dozen bikes that are nicer than the Supersix Evo or anything Cannondale makes or made in the past. Actually I'm being lazy. I can think of a lot more than two dozen that are nicer.
