Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Fixed. It’s not every day you find a DeRosa our size.

Kids who were in utero when I first started are going to be driving age soon.

So far, we're uniting against Bam for making nasty remarks.

Edit: I was actually measured 169cm at my last annual physical.

You boys have been busy today. Kudos! I did my almost metric today, with slightly different routes than originally planned. 43km out and 45 back. Feeling it in the knees, somewhat more than the rest of the body.

I have nothing against those of smaller stature because we're not in competition for old bikes.

Numerous fitters over the last 40 years would disagree.

I also have small feet - 8. Every time I see for sale stuff on FB for used high-end shoes, they're always too big.

I moved in with a friend and his wife when I closed my shop and broke up with another GF, and got really sick from drinking. While I was living with them they had a daughter and then a second one. It was time for me to move out before the third kid, a son, was born. Now, the first born is 44 and has 4 kids. I still have trouble accepting this.

Forgot to mention that I used my trusty merino wool sweater as a base layer both ways, on today’s ride. And street shorts over the spandex outbound only. 66 starting out and 75 on the return, with heavy overcast. I never did really warm up, and never worked up a sweat. But it was 100% fun. Google maps, in all their wisdom, sent me overland, with the bicycle selection. The bulk of the outbound portion was off pavement, and half of that was in bad shape. I am flummoxed at their route selection. On the return, I was on pavement the whole way, because I knew the way. I gave their route a try because it was billed as being two hours in duration. It took me three and a half.

I hate looking for shoes. When Performance had a huge store here I went in there and there wasn't a shoe of any style or price in the whole store that was big enough.
Eventually I can find something that fits, not like a friend who has size 9 DDDD, or something like that. All his shoes are custom.

I think the continuous HR monitoring is useful, along with related metrics like RHR and HRV. Helps to understand (and ultimately manage) fatigue and related training/workout decisions. These are highly useful tools for many athletes, especially amatuers that have a job and family to juggle in addition to the bike (or whatever their sport is).

For a recreational rider or weekend warrior - probably not worth it. Not that there is anything wrong w that.

Have you offered feedback on the service?

Every little thing I have done in healthcare they now bombard me with feedback forms afterwards. Sounds like your sheriff could use one.
