I just built this Nishiki International with a Shimano Ultegra 9 speed group I picked up for $100 cdn . The rest of the parts are from the parts bin. It fits me very well although it would be perfect with a shorter stem ( If anyone has something to trade I have tons of parts to trade) . Next step is to get Vittoria Cross XN tires when PBK gets them in stock (anyone knows if they'll fit?)
Also, does my comversion to race face mtb cranks make sens for city use ? Outer chainring is a 46t but 48t rings are available for cheap.
ps ; thanks for all your comments on my 3Rensho

No reason in particular, I'd just really like to have one. 3Rensho gets a _lot_ of track exposure, but those road frames are drop dead gorgeous and very well built.

Damn I have a crush on the new levers!
OFG, you are one of the least crumudgeomy members on the forum.
I'm starting a thread about "new steel" in a few weeks.
I want to see bikes made in the 1990s and onwards with oversized tubing lugged or tig etc.

Wow this is the first time I stumble into this thread. Its awsome. Some really look good, but its not my cup of tea. What I like is the ingenuiety of it. Its pretty much custum bikes here. Making older 12 speeds into 20 speeds. cool! Not just the functionality, but the presentation and attention to detail. Some of those look like they could have been designed yesterday. very pro.
The looks though.... I don't know about STI briefters. The only way I can describe it is...."A pretty girl with mild Downs Syndrome." You know? They get the facial features like that, but otherwise they would be really hot?
I dont know different strokes for different folks.

Hrm, yes, very odd thing to write.
I cannot say that I love the look of the STI shifters on my Ciocc but the improvement in performance far outweighs the aesthetics. I have a 9-speed Ultegra kit that I might pop on it one day but for now, the 105 is amazing enough.

Thanks! I am very happy with it but still have a couple of things I need to tweak, mostly with the bars. I like these bars (Cinelli Campione Del Monde) but I need to move the levers up a half inch or so. Here are some pretty bad photos, I need to tweak my skills with the camera too
