Lubricate new chain?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

YBN QRs quick links can be reused 5 times making the cost about $.70/use when purchased on eBay. Or you can use the Connex reusable link that will last at least the life of the chain and doesn't require any tools to remove/install. They come with the Connex chains if you ever purchase one.

And while some people reuse the shimano/KMC links I wouldn't even think about it on an 11 speed drivetrain. If a chain pops on me while in an all out sprint or while standing on a climb I'm probably going crash with a very good chance of injury. I can afford the few bucks it takes to maintain the bike properly.

Do the YBN or Connex links worth smoothly and efficiently on Shimano chains?
