My main problem is the whole carb-up before a big ride thing. I love pasta and I'm a good cook, but too much spagets and I'm turbo-charged the next day. Not good for anyone behind me, so I play caboose or tailgunner in group rides after pasta or rice.

So my usual pre-ride is stuff like yogurt with cereal and bananas. Less gassy than pasta and rice.

Not a food, but recently I added an iron supplement to my usual multi-vitamin, which lacks any iron. As with many folks that iron supplement can upset the digestion for a few days. Sometimes I'll skip the iron pill the night before a big ride.
