65 lbs less of me since I started riding. Quit smoking. Big stress reliever.

I have always enjoyed cycling, but the most important benefit of cycling in my case is keeping depression at bay--it is better than any medications that I have used over the years.

A good ride will always clear all those cobwebs that are between my ears! Not that many miles but it is very hilly around where I ride and make up for the length!

I saved $15,000.00 on a vericose vein procedure I no longer have to do. I've been cycling four months now. My left leg had some precarious vericos veins that I was contemplating having removed. I have logged in right at 800 miles so far and the vericose veins have all but dissapeared. The leg movement in cycling gets the pooling blood out of the legs and into the circulatory system where it belongs. Also, blood sugar is normal, cholesterol is normal, blood pressure is normal. Before cycling I was on the fence in all three categories. Low glycemic diet has helped with this. Went for my yearly physical a couple weeks ago and the Doc said prostate is fine.

I've been riding actively as an adult for forty years. It has defined my health andlifestyle. According to my doctor, at age 59, I'm in perfect health for a35 year old. Being able to integrate vigorous, challenging activity into my daily routine has made all the difference.

Dropped 25 pounds since May 1.

Actually excited to go to work, because I get to ride my bike to get there.

My wife and I have an exercise/outdoor activity we can do together, and that we both want to improve at.

I sleep better. My bloodwork a month ago looks like a healthy 20-yr-old (tho low carb diet gets credit, too). I don't snore as much (wt loss helped). I feel like I found an athletic activity I can do at 53 that doesn't hammer my body (as I start to prep for cyclocross, we'll see how that works).

I get to ask the question "Why in the world did I run all those years?"

Cycling faster at 76 than at 75 I would say, for me, it's a good thing.
