Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

That reminds me - Tall Ships is back on the year, but they're moving up the coast shore from Duluth. Need to check with the wife and see if we've booked that yet.

I would suspect it's counterfeit. Where did you get it?

I think that word began with an F and ended with a G.

It came on the bike.

I just noticed I’m missing a bolt on my chainring- I bet that’s the culprit

Yeah, I managed to trace the creaking/clicking on two bikes to chainring bolts. Loose, not missing, though.

Just finished up a 30 mile windy ride. The headwind was bad but the crosswind was brutal. Finished with the winds at 21 mph and gusting to 38 mph. Even my fat butt couldn't keep the bike from side-slipping in the gusts. The last 3 miles in particular were scary.

My Sunday ride week before last was really windy, too, and every time I felt my wheels drift a little I was reminded of the crash in the Strada Bianchi race.

Alaphilippe's somersault, and the way his bike FLIES over him, is what my Dad would have called 'Going ass over teakettle'. Just amazing.
