A neighbor who is a bike mechanic was admiring one of my bikes, I told him it was the last version of that model before the manufacturer switched to discs.

His reply was that he wished he had bought a couple more frames like that before they became unavailable.

Back to dynamo’s I finally got my SON widebody wheel set in. I got the front a couple week ago but there was a shipping error with the rear so it didn’t get here until Wednesday

I'm liking the pair of Cinturato Gravel H I bought; they are very low rolling resistance. Too soon to say about longevity and toughness (though since going tubeless flats have been so rare across many brands of tire, I don't seem to care as much about puncture resistance any more). They're on the heavy side in all sizes. My particular 650x50 tires though, Pirelli's specs on their site are just plain wrong. They're 640g tires listed as 540g.

There's nothing inherent in the dynamo being in front that makes it more efficient. It's just that the makers of high-efficiency dynamo hubs have decided to made them as front hubs.

There's also a packaging problem: there's just more going on in a rear hub than a front hub, so adding the dynamo works to that makes it more complicated.
