Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

@Curt Kurt

You know, I remember reading it somewhere but I can't pinpoint exactly where. My LBS owner's also told me the same thing, and yet, after checking the Hed website, apparently the Hed Alps has a structural carbon rim, along with the Stinger line. However, I'm sure that the Jet line has nonstructural carbon rims.

The Jets are structural aluminum with a thin carbon skin. The Stingers are full carbon. The Alps are an Al rim (not fully structural, mostly a brake track/clincher base), structural carbon, solid core.

Bit of glue and some sticky tape and they'll be as right as rain.

Have you considered a Renn rear disk? People have mentioned to me that they are built a little bi better than the Hed disk.

What about the Reynolds Stratus DV carbon clincher.

They can be had at great prices right now.

I actually went with two Hed Trispokes.

most of my road racing is tri's so I thought this would be the best bet. Will try and add a rear disk in the future when flow permits

I think you can get a renn disc for less than $500 still...

+1

The new ones are retailing for 2200 but you can get a set on sale now for 1750. I bet the 07's are easier to work with, the 06's were a b***h to put tires on, even the ones that were loose on all my aluminium clinchers.
