My recent back and forth about some shorts I bought from (and returned to) Performance was through a company called A-Main Hobbies. I think they bought Performance/Nashbar earlier this year.

Nashbar started out as a company known as Bike Warehouse. They had everything you could want back then at very good prices. I ordered from them many times. However, their shipping charges were awful. The more you spent, the more they charged for shipping, no matter how small and light the item and shipping to Canada was much more expensive. They, along with Performance never seemed to get that Canada was a potential market. Along came the UK companies who offered free shipping when you spent more and Nashbar pretty much lost me as a customer. Too bad, they had some great stuff, but it was always expensive to buy from them because of shipping costs. Even when they offered free shipping, it didn't include Canadian customers. The last time I ordered from Nashbar, it was shortly after there had been a postal workers strike in Canada. Even though the dispute had been settled, Nashbar shipped my order with a more expensive private company which wanted to charge me extra fees. They lost me then and they never got me back. I cannot understand why US companies cannot figure out how to ship to Canada when UK companies can do it so much cheaper

Ordered stuff from Nashbar and Performance since 1995. Not anymore.
