the only thing i really dont like is the bar/brake lever combo it either needs:
bullhorns/tt levers
dirt drops/aero levrs
either way i wouldn't be embarrassed to ride it (if it were my size)

I'd be embarrassed to ride a single speed road bike with canti brakes, period. It's not a CX bike, it's a touring bike. The reason
it had the canti's in the first place, was for slowing down on hills well enough to be safe. Climbing hills with a single speed
is simply something I would never do. So basically that conversion makes no sense at all. Just my opinion, though. It's
like putting chrome 20's and candy paint on a Cavalier. Sure a lot of people do it, but it still looks silly to most people

but i cant help but think its a great commuter. cross tires are good for poor roads and weather conditions and the cantilever brakes provide plenty of clearance for fenders, again, good for commuting. the fact that it is a touring bike also means that it would accept a rack well, again, good for commuting. 20in wheels and candy paint on a caviler serves no reasonable purpose... but i get your point im also they type that will train on a fixed gear bike (and i'm not afraid of 20mph winds or 7% grades while im at it)

I know you're right even though I don't want you to be, I just want it to be cheaper because it's the first decent bike in my size in a LONG time to come out of local Craigslisting.
It's a fair price, but at that price it's not much of a "find" for a CV'er.
