Never once have I wanted to stop and chat with another owner. That would be odd.
In my 6 months of bike commuting, this older gentlemen chatted me up at a stop light on the fact that he got a ticket running a red that had no bike/walk button. It cost him $400. He went to court to plead his case. Still lost. I still go if there's no bike/walk button, but now I'm anxious about it.
