Before they upgraded to shrink-wrapping the bikes in plastic, Peugeot wrapped their bikes in rough, crinkly paper. Don't know what that kind of paper is called.

I remember how surprised we were when the first shipment of shrink-wrapped bikes arrived. We eventually found that the shrink-wrapping reduced the incidence of scratched paint, as I recall.

Justin I just discovered that because I am a brand new member with less than 10 posts, the website won't let me PM or respond to yours. I would like to talk about the orange Peugeot, if the white one is gone. If you PM me an email address perhaps we can convo off line. Sorry, and thanks for reaching out. Regards, Joe C. "newdoc2"

Bikes: Was Fuji and got my grails (Pro, Pro SR, Design Series, & Ti). Now I hunt 50's and older road bikes.

Very cool. I'm happy these can end up with enthusiasts, vs just sold cheap to random people. If there were a NOS 23" Fuji Special Road Racer in the mix, I would be in hog heaven and wishing I could throw my money at you. With my luck though, it would be yellow or white, my two least favorite colors for that model. I'd still probably buy it though.
