My normal average per year is about 11K. This year I'm above, because I retired this year, so every day is a weekend. Yet, I won't make my record of 15,350. Which I still can't believe I did that while working. I was doing 12 hr. days counting the commute.

Anyhow, I try to get out 6 days a week (weather permitting) and average 40-60 a day. Summers are toward the high side of that range, winters the low. Because of a bad crash 8 years ago, my back and shoulders can't take much more than 4 hrs. on the bike. So, long rides are pretty much out of the question. I only have three rides this year in the low 80 mile range.

I'm too lazy to count my Citi Bike miles this month, and I took a few rides without logging, so the number is low. 185 is from ridewithgps. It says my year-to-date total is 1,549, and it doesn't include Citi Bike and of course the unlogged rides.

Yes, my twins are in travel soccer, plus Saturday flag football. My oldest left the travel team as they wanted him to quit basketball, now he is doing travel basketball and is on the school soccer team. I'm a gluton for punishment I guess. 4 hour commute to work, leaves mostly predawn or dusk rides, only managed 260 for Sept.

I think I figured it out. I'm about 350 miles on the year. About 80% of that was during one ride/trip.

45 miles for September.
0 so far for October.

tough year.

September 276 miles, 20,700 feet of climb. Weather crapped out last few days; I was hoping to get to 300.

I'm at 2200 miles for the year so far, was looking for 3000 this year but might be tough if weather turns bad in December.

October was a bit grueling because I was out of town for a week and had to make up the difference in the other weeks.

On the plus side, I built up a new Black Mountain Road, and that thing is Su-wheet.

This month, I logged 255 miles, which is a lot better than last month's 185. I've been doing some weight lifting, and my new shoes eliminate foot pain, so I'm feeling pretty good on the bike.

Not a good month. Every weekend this month I planned to ride a century, but every time 5 AM rolled around on a weekend morning, I had a sore throat and didn't feel like getting up. I've spent most of the month feeling like I'm coming down with a cold, and riding a century in cold weather, when you feel like you're coming down with a cold, pretty well ensures you'll come down with a cold. So I didn't ride my century. The result? I'm coming down with a cold.

Your call. If I don't ride, I find it hard to justify all the bikes.
