I usually just use a large adjustable crescent wrench, pulling it with the arm that has the top tube in my armpit. I use the other hand hold it against the frame. Or, in this case, I would grab the exposed spindle and let the top of my fist push in against the wrench.

An adjustable wrench can be snugged down the exact width of the cup flats, so it is more stable, and has a better handle. I've never used flat wrenches shown (but would if I had one of those keeper tools to put on it).

Might not work in this instance, but I have had success heating the BB shell with just a gentle flame, like a candle. This was on an aluminum frame.
